iPhone Friday

The iPhone wasn’t too hot this week, it was down right frozen! It is tough to operate it with gloves on. To make up for the lack of iPhoneography, I included to a photo of a lobster. Seemed like a good idea at the time?

At night, the entire reef changes. All the cool spiny creatures with exoskeletons come out and play. This guy was around 2 feet long. Some are smaller, some are a bit larger. But all equally exciting to find on a dive.

Cool Video: I’m pretty sure the age old ‘snow plow’ wouldn’t be nearly as effective when a 60ft wave it chasing you? Click here to watch Skiing Waves

Photo-Walk Saturday: Come out and join the Illuminate Photography Workshop photo walk this Saturday. It is always a great time followed by food and libations. You can get the details here.

  1. Wow, had no idea you could ski on water :) Awesome :)

  2. OMG fitness update

I did my Army PT test today. I’m a 34 year old woman and have to have 45 situps and run 2 miles in 21:19. There is a push up event but I am exempt due to an injury.

So today I did 57 situps and ran my 2 miles in 16:48. I have not done that since I was in my early 20′s. I was so happy. I lost 3 on my sit ups and that sucked however I I dropped over 2 mins on my run. I am very happy but really sore. I also weighed in at 145.

  3. Justin, I like the footprints in the snow. Nice capture!

Fitness checkin: Down 2 lbs this week – 43 lbs. in 11 weeks. I was hoping for more weight loss, but it was a stressful week at work and stress isn’t usually conducive to weight loss.

I ran (on my own) a 5K this morning! It’s probably the first time I’ve run that far in over 10 years. It wasn’t a world record pace, but I made it. My legs are a little sore right now. I think I need to do some intervals to increase my speed.

See you at the finish line1

  4. Thanks Hans

Great job on the weight loss and the 5K.

  5. It was a hard week for me. Early on, I did fine, but I did something to my knee so that I got 20 seconds into my run on Friday and decided I had had enough. I think the rest helped. Looking forward to starting my taper next week after a long run today (Monday). The race is a few weeks away!
