Niagara At Night

Niagara falls is an odd place. Picture taking Las Vegas and putting it on the edge of the Grand Canyon. One moment you are staring at a wonder of the world (or close to) and the next you are being solicited by huge neon casino signs. If you do go, make sure you take the behind the falls tour. It is totally cool (and cold so dress warm). As always, you can find other photos from Niagara in the Niagara Category including a photo from behind the falls. Tomorrow we are going to Bordeaux, France. At least the blog is, so hopefully we will see you back here where the streets have no names.

Photographer’s Note: Something that I have been using quite a bit this year to photograph out of hotel windows is the ‘Lens Skirt‘. I used it to make this image. It is compact, super easy to use, and has served me well for a number of images and movies. I highly recommend it. Here’s a really bad photo of it in action. (No endorsement here, just love for a cool product!)

  1. Nice shot Justin. Was just there this past May and agree with the description. Pretty unusual place. Nice tip on the Lens Skirt. I’ll have to try it out.

  2. Very cool shot. We went there last year and loved it. The Canadian side is a bit over the top, but much nicer than the sad, broken-down American side.

  3. Awesome shot! I might have to stop by B&H and pick one of those Lens Skirts up. Cool accessory!

  4. Very cool shot of Niagara. I’ve seen lots of pictures of the falls and have been there numorous times as I’m only about an hour and a half drive away but this is a super composition.

  5. Love the image, but more importantly, thank you for the tip about the “lens skirt” I have been improvising a solution for this for far too long. Time to order :-)
