It was last year that I hosted my first international photo walk in Cozumel, MX. It was great fun getting to know some of the local artists. This was one of the images I shot as we strolled through the streets speaking about creativity in Spanish…well, as best I could. One thing I mentioned on the walk was to pay attention to details. I have a bad habit of ignoring the micro compositions. I have to force myself to focus on the little things that will help to tell the story. This was a tough lesson for me share in Spanish…good thing my fellow photo walkers spoke English.
Photographer’s Note: I tone mapped a single image using NIK HDR Efex Pro to bring out the character in this image.

Very nice macro Justin with just the right amount of grit and detail.
Like this shot and the DOF.
