Well, I made it back from the race and brought a whole bunch of photos along with me. They will be making it on to the site over the coming weeks (actually year or so…I never like to process them all at once). I’m still recovering from the jet lag, but I should be on track soon.
Today’s Image
There’s no shortage of beautiful sunsets in Maui. Heck, sunsets or not beauty can be found pretty easily there. I shot this image on quiet walk I was on through the little town of Lahina. It was refreshing to watch people come out of the restaurants and store owners make their way to the shore to watch it. It is in these moments that I’m reminded we are more alike than we are different. Occasionally we forget it, but I hold out hope that one day we will all be able to realize we share the same sun.

Beautiful shot, Justin. That 70-300 is a great lens and on the D7000 you get some serious zoom power. Awesome!
Yes you do. 450mm handheld ain’t bad!
Welcome back! This gives me some serious desire to head out to the islands. It’s been about 15 years since I’ve been out there.
Nice timing on this one man.
Well done, Justin! Curious if this was handheld or tripod?
Howdy Robert, thanks! Yep, it was handheld. I had to keep moving to get the framing I wanted….I must have looked like a crazy person running around.
Welcome back, Justin! Can’t wait to see more images from Hawaii!
Lovely shot! Would love to see it myself someday!
