A Magical Place

This is a special place that is near and dear to my heart. I experienced a soul changing mountain bike ride here nearly 20 years ago, and then 12 years later I was engaged at this very location. For years I have wanted to return and capture the magic of those moments. Finally, a few weeks ago I was able to.

Photographer’s Notes: I was traveling very light that evening with my trusty D700 and an old 20mm AFD (I love that lens). The expanse of this place can’t be appreciated without a reference to scale. I decided to include my longtime childhood friend in the image to give it the necessary scope. Beyond that, I let Mother Nature and Lightroom 3 do their work.

I have been getting requests for guide/workshops in the Moab area. If I were to do one, would you be interested? They would require some hiking, and the 3 day weekend would be photo focused. I would limit the workshops to 3 people. Let me know if that is something that you would be interested in and I will email you if I work something out. Just leave a comment below or drop me a note on the ‘Contact Me’ page.
