The Road To Hana byPhone

If you haven’t heard of or driven the historic road to the sleepy little town of Hana, here is a quick look at it via my iPhone. It is quite the adventure and if you ever decide to make the drive yourself, I suggest you spend at least one night in Hana. The magic of this road is quickly lost if you turn right around and drive back. Have a great weekend! We will see you back here on Monday. Until then, get out there and make some magic.

Photographer’s Note: As you might know, I am working on my next book and this is another sneak peek at what you will find in it. All images were processed using Nik Software’s Snapseed.

  1. Looks like a wonderful place to visit Justin. Never been to Hawaii. It’s definitely on my bucket list along with Australia and New Zealand

  2. Great shots as usual Justin and wonderfully processed.

  3. Justin – awesome iphonography!!!

I can still remember visiting Hasegawa’s back in the 70′s when visiting Maui with my parents….somethings (like wine) just get better with age.

Your images once again prove that the best camera to have….is the one in your pocket at the time and the photographer’s eye!

Great to see the photos of the road to Hana. It brought back great memories of my drive up that road last year, which had an added adventure. They were repairing the road that day, we met each of the 25 Mack dump trucks as they were coming down the hill as we were headed up towards Hana. It was a welcome relief to occassionally pull off on side roads to see hidden gems and eat some banana bread. We took the advice of the park ranger and drove the other road back, which was very scenic and more relaxing. Overall definitely worth the experience of driving it.

    • That does sound like an adventure! I have been very curious about the other road back. Many rental car agencies tell you not to go that way, but I have heard from several places that it’s not that big of deal. I guess I will have to do it next time.

      Thanks for the info Greg!
