4 years ago today, I posted this image and simple message. Today, it continues to motivate me. I hope that your visits here inspire you to make art. Whatever the art is. Thanks again for all your support over the years.
The Blog Post That Started It All

Although this post will soon be buried behind countless numbers of ‘previous entries’ buttons, the significance of the first post is overwhelming. I wasn’t able to decide between a satirical self portrait from high school photography class (well over 20yrs ago) or an image that represented a personal breakthrough in my commitment to the craft. Obviously I went with the later. This is a special image to me for a very singular reason. I did it. I ride by this rock several times a week on my evening mountain bike rides. Every time I do, I say to myself that would make a great image. Finally, after years of saying that to myself, I went and made it happen. It is a personal reminder that there are millions of images in the world that have yet to me made, but they don’t make themselves.

Wonderful images Justin. I am not sure what was my favorite post. Too hard to choose. Just keep going….
Thanks much Len! Will do.
You got me here under false pretenses! I read your tweet and thought it said you were giving away a free “pint”. Bummer!
Congratulations on the anniversary regardless :-)
We can dial in the ‘pint’ in the PDX, thanks much Dave!
Many, Many Congratulations on the Anniversary!! I know how hard is to keep at it for so many years with just the satisfaction of a job well done as the reward…
Great images as always and great inspiration to us all!!
Here is to many more years of AWESOME content!
Thanks so much Eduardo! I really appreciate the kind words. I’m glad you are enjoying the adventure and it’s great to have you along!
Happy Anniversary Justin! Thanks for being a great source of information and inspiration for me and others, and I know we all look forward to your future work! Well done!
Thanks Jimmy!
It’s so wonderful how one thought can blossom into a multi-faceted career! Your photography is breathtaking, but it’s your heart that speaks. You share what you’ve mastered. It may be in a detailed iPhonography book for purchase, free tips on your blog or in a tweeted response to a simple question from a newbie such as myself. God bless you!
Wow, thanks for the kind words! I’m so glad to have you along for the adventure. Keep the creativity flowing my friend!
Congrats! And keep up the great work!
Will do my man!
Congrats on another year bud. Been good getting to know you and look forward to shooting with you some day.
Great getting to know you too. Looking forward to the first day our cameras meet!
Happy Anniversary! Such a great site which continues to inspire!
Thanks Hans!
Well, I might be crazy (hey, no comment) because I can’t find the photo in your gallery (nor after a quick blog search), but I swear you took a photo of a dog (a bulldog?) on a settee (it was definitely not a couch) in some cool old moody-looking hotel. I think you did a little HDR effect on it. It might have been around the same time as that escalator image?
So, am I crazy? I will feel bad if it’s not you who took it.
But keep up all the hard work you do. Or at least you make it look like you’re working hard. :)
Thanks Barb! I believe you are thinking of Hippo, the guest services dog in Vancouver.
Is this him?

Congrats on 4yrs. I always think it is a great thing for people to find a passion and make it grow. You seem to have done that on a large scale. You are genuine and right where your suppose to be.. thanks for what you do…
Thanks much Jim, it was great getting to hang out with you this weekend. Looking forward to some photo adventures together.
Hi Justin and many congratulations on the sites anniversary! Coming from the UK your posts arrive overnight so Hossedia is the first site I visit in the morning for my daily update!
For me, picking out one particular moment is easy… the photos you took at your friends wedding were for me, just gorgeous… I just remember stopping and thinking wow when I saw them (you have very lucky friends!!) Keep up the great work!
Thanks Martin! I love the fact we have an international crowd here. I really appreciate your support. Looks like your countrymen did it again. Congrats on your cycling Renaissance!
A great collection, congrats!
Thanks much Kris!
Congrats on 4 years! Your photos are always amazing and heartfelt, but the most incredible part is watching someone take a dream and make it reality. I couldn’t pick a favorite until I saw the picture of Hippo!! Love him!
Thanks Gina! Yes, Hippo was quite the character.
