Not only is the Nikon 24mm 1.4G great for photographing people, it is equally great for photographing prisons! I shot this image at the Frontier State Prison in Rawlings Wyoming. Definitely an interesting place to visit if you are ever driving the uninteresting stretch of I-80 between Cheyenne and Salt Lake City.
New Processing Tutorial
Here’s a quick look at how I performed the processing of this image using Lightroom 4. You can find all my free processing videos and recommended learning over at my ‘Hub of Creative Learning and Inspiration‘.
This concludes our week long adventure with this glorious lens. I hope you have enjoyed it. I posted a full review and additional photos from this lens here.

Justin,
Nice job with this. I am a long time Aperture user but I have been sort of “forced” to use Lightroom the last couple weeks because I have the Nikon D600 and only Lightroom has the RAW code converted. It is good to see how to do a few things with my photos in LR now. I think I might end up keeping LR as well, some really great stuff in it… That prison looks like a great place to shoot and convert things to B&W….
No sweat Mike! I was using Aperture for a while, then made the decision to stay within the Adobe family of products. When LR4 hit the streets, I was glad I did. It is an awesome product.
Yep…that prison is totally cool and all parts of it are accessible to the public. Neat place to explore.
