Chamberlin Observatory

Chamberlin Observatory

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Some good friends and I discovered one of Denver’s hidden gems, the Chamberlin Observatory. Once a month, they open up this historic place and invite everyone to explore the heavens. We were able to see the ice cap on Mars through a telescope built in the late 1800s. I’d say that’s pretty cool for a Saturday night. Living by the mantra I have preached here many times, I made sure to take my camera with me. Needless to say, I’m glad I did.

Light At The End

The project I have been so hard at work on is finally completed and out of my hands. I have done all that I can do, and now it is up to the powers that be. If all goes well, I will be able to bring you more good news, stories, and beauty. I thought that at the end of this project I would have felt a sigh of relief. I’m actually filled with an emptiness. I don’t know what to do with myself. Maybe once it is finished, and I can finally share it with you, I will celebrate. Until then, I’m managing my expectations as I wander through this forest of emotion. I’ll let you know when I get there!

p.s. You are looking at world’s largest aspen grove, which I think makes it the world’s largest living organism? The world really is amazing!

The Denver Skyline

Denver Skyline

3 hours ago, I lost some of the most valuable information on this site. One slip of the finger and it was all gone. Let’s just say it was tough three hours. Finally, when I came to my senses, I sent a quick email to my host WPEngine.com. Within 5 minutes they had me restored. That is why I pay good money for my host. Anyway, I am drained….I didn’t think I was going to have a blog, let alone a post tonight. But thankfully it all worked out. For the last four years, I have never missed 2 days in the schedule. I wasn’t about to start now.

iPhone Monday

I felt so bad after Friday’s post (it seemed to be light on the images) I decided to go out and shoot some photos with the gear I posted about. I took the Olloclip out for its first official test drive. It was great fun and easy to use. Here are three images I made using the lenses that come with it.

Barrel Racer

Barrel Racer

When I was down at the National Western Stock Show working on my story about the athletes of the PBR, I witnessed a lot of different events and had a chance to speak with a variety of athletes. One of my favorite rodeo events to watch was barrel racing. I couldn’t believe how athletic these horses were. It was amazing to watch, but when I got home and looked at a still frames, I was blown away by what they were capable of. I think next year my story will be on the barrel racers.
