USA Pro Cycling Challenge – Stage 4

Today’s stage in the USA Pro Cycling Challenge was considered a sprinters stage. For those of you who are new to cycling, this type of stage is mostly flat, which means the entire peloton will usually stay together to fight it out in the last 10 kilometers for a sprint victory. Well, the Liquigas-Cannondale team did that to perfection today. After fighting it out for over a 100 kilometers on the open roads, the Liquigas-Cannondale team controlled the final 10 kilometers of the race by setting a pace that was inhumane enough, no other riders could pass. Then, in the final meters of the race, Elia Viviani lit a rocket that won the stage. With everything that goes into a sprint victory, it is only fitting to pay it the tribute it deserves. The following 8 images were shot over the course of seconds during the final 500 meters of the race. Congrats Liquigas-Cannondale!
