The Corner Store

Affiliate News (and big savings): I’m an affiliate for onOneSoftware because I use their toolset quite a bit in my workflow. I won’t rep something I don’t believe in. The cool thing about being an affiliate is that they occasionally offer special pricing to my readers. You can save $150 on the complete photo suite until May 15th. The suite includes all the tools I use (Focal Point, Photo Tools, Photo Tune, Framing, and a great upsizing software).

I used several of the Photo Tools filters to put the finishing touches on this image. Here is the before photo in case you wanted to see where it started.

What We Were Looking For

What We Were Looking For URBEX HDR

This weekend a couple local photographers decided to get together and hit the streets of Denver for an urban adventure. Both Hansrico and I agreed, that an Urban adventure isn’t complete without a few images of an alley. We set off to find the most colorful Denver had to offer. I’m not sure if it was the most colorful, but the characters we ran into sure were.

Closed For The Season

Drive In Theatre HDR

If you have been following my struggles the last couple of days here on the site, or on Twitter, you know that everyday has presented a new challenge in producing my most recent movie. I won’t give up. The show must go on! Actually, I am really excited about it, and I apologize for missing my intended release date. Good thing there isn’t any big Hollywood studio money riding on it. I might have had to call in Ari Gold to patch things up. Keep your fingers crossed that it will be released before the season opens.

If you are an email subscriber, and yesterday’s movie didn’t appear in your inbox correctly, you can find it here. You don’t want to miss it. It had the most first day views of any of my movies. Always makes you feel good when others enjoy your work. I found this little scene at the end of LightAsMagic.com’s first international photo-walk. I was pretty beat after walking through town for the last 3 hours, but I still had enough creative fight in me to compose a picture. When I see interesting little compositional elements like this, nicely grouped together, I’m easily distracted. Be warned, if you are ever walking around with me making images, I’m not the best conversationalist. It is nothing against you, its just my creative side pretty much wins all the attention battles.

Tip: If you are captivated by a scene, but you don’t quite know why. Make a couple different photos of it. Who knows what you will find when you get back home? Just don’t give up on it!

The Depot Stairs

The Depot Stairs

I had the opportunity this weekend to visit a town I had been meaning to take my camera to for quite a while. Pueblo, CO is a small town about a 100 miles south of Denver. I was on a quest for my Americana project, however, because of a local connection I was able to make a few images of Pueblo’s historic train depot. In this images, I experimented a bit with onOne Software’s Photo Tools. I have been enjoying what these tools have to offer. They are pretty slick.
